Tish Cyrus explains how Dominic Purcell changed her life

Tish Cyrus is grateful to her now-husband Dominic Purcell that he is helping her grow as a human being.

Billy Ray Cyrus‘ ex-wife appeared on her daughter Brandi Cyrus’ podcast Sorry We’re Stoned Thursday and admitted there are “definitely issues” in their union.

The matriarch candidly recalled,

“I was so scared when I first met Dom, my husband,”
“I am a Taurus and he is an Aquarius, and every single thing I read said, ‘Don’t even do it. It is the absolute worst pairing.’”

Talking about their fundamental differences, Tish said that she is “easily offended” and “takes things so personally,” while Purcell is “blunt” and “not emotional.”

The 56-year-old added,

“And that could be a problem. But you know what, this is where I’ve grown, is like, I just feel like instead now of me getting so offended, because I respect and love him, that we have conversations,”

“And instead [of] getting so upset and heated about it, and me not taking it personally, just letting him have an opinion. I’ve never been good at that.”

She later said,

“These are definitely issues,”
“But issues also, because I love him, that I’m dealing with.”

Tish and the Prison Break star started dating in 2020 but only made their romance public in November 2022.

They got engaged in April 2023 and tied the knot in August 2023.

Why was Tish and Purcell’s union in controversy?

Their romance became quite controversial earlier this month amid various reports claiming that Tish and Purcell, 54, started dating shortly after he hooked up with the former’s youngest daughter, Noah.

A source close to the couple said,

“Noah and Dominic were seeing each other in a friends-with-benefits way, off and on,”
“They stopped seeing each other and then Tish started something up.”

A source who broke the news to Us Weekly, explained,

“The turmoil between Noah and Tish goes far beyond [what people think]. Noah is very distraught over Tish stealing Dominic from her,”

Additionally, Tish never had a proper conversation with her daughter about her romance with the actor which didn’t go right with Noah.
