Aaron defends 23-year age gap with wife Sam

Aaron Taylor-Johnson is so in love with his wife Sam, whom he married when he was only 22, and she 45.

In an interview published with Rolling Stone on Wednesday, Sam defended the couple’s age gap, saying,

“What you gotta realize is that what most people were doing in their twenties, I was doing when I was 13,”
“You’re doing something too quickly for someone else? I don’t understand that. What speed are you supposed to enjoy life at? It’s bizarre to me,”

The Bullet Train star, 33, met his wife, Sam, now 57, on the set of her movie Nowhere Boy in 2009. They married in 2012.

The couple are proud parents to daughters Wylda, 13, and Romy Hero, 11. The actor is also a stepdad to the director’s kids from her previous marriage to Jay Jopling: Angelica, 25, and Jessie, 15.

Aaron called his wife “a great filmmaker and a wonderful storyteller,” and also admitted that the ongoing rumors about their marriage were very tough.

He explained,

“There’s a protectiveness that I feel,”
“I think it’s really difficult. There’s also part of me that feels like if something didn’t work, I’m the one that’s responsible,”

Aaron added,

“People see and perceive this thing around my career, and that’s OK. But I’m just trying to juggle my family and my work. I’m doing normal life; dentist appointments. Career doesn’t necessarily take a back seat, but it takes a different thought behind the choices that you make.”

Aaron said his relationship with Sam is an open book

He most recently told Esquire that there is nothing in his relationship.

Johnson told the outlet last year,

“I’m trying to be as honest as possible,”
“I’ve probably talked to you more about my kids and Sam than I have with anybody. I’ve got really nothing to hide, and I’m secure in what we have. But I’m not going to unlock things that are actually precious to me.”

He went on,

“[I knew] I was going to have a big family. I knew I was going to be a young father. I knew I was going to have many kids.”

Fans supported the couple with one writing,

”You see them together and immediately you get it. They complement each other. A perfect fit. It is so obvious.”

Another wrote,
