Tommy Dorfman, 29, and Peter Zurkuhlen, 33 officially split after five years of marriage.

According to TMZ, the 33-year-old founder & CEO of ChipChop Holding visited the Los Angeles courthouse on Tuesday, Feb 1 to file divorce documents. Just a few months ago Tommy came out as a transgender woman. The reason behind their divorce is still yet to come.

In July 2021, when ’13 Reasons Why’ introduced herself as a transwoman she told Time that she and her husband have had to “redefine their relationship”, clarifying they would become friends rather than a romantic partner.

She explained,

” I was in a nine-year relationship in which I was thought of as a more male-bodied person, with a gay man. I love him so much, but we’ve been learning that as a trans woman, what I’m interested in is not necessarily reflected in a gay man. So we’ve had incredible conversations to redefine our relationship as friends.”

However, the pair haven’t spoken anything regarding their divorce rumors so far.

In 2005, the pair met at a housewarming party hosted by a mutual friend. Then the two got engaged in April 2015 and walked down the aisle on 12 November 2016 in Portland, Maine.

Since then they have been living a blissful conjugal life and have been seen together on several public occasions while keeping a low profile.

The couple together attended the 2018 Human Rights Campaign Gala Dinner in Los Angeles. Zuekeklen also publicly supported Dorfman when she came out as transgender.
