Victoria’s Secret model Shanina Shaik is pregnant!

The Australian model took to Instagram to announce the happy news on Sunday, May 8. She shared a series of photos of herself showing off her growing baby bump and penned a heartfelt note to her unborn child.

The message began,

“To the new love of my life, Thank you for choosing me to be your Mum. I have always wanted you for as long as I can remember, and at times my patience was tested,”

The day is coincidentally Mother’s Day in Australia so the catwalk star acknowledges,

“The timing had to be right, and I can say with confidence that I am ready to be your guide, your protector, and your best friend.”

Giving an insight into her pregnancy journey so far she expressed her gratitude to her own mother.

She told,

“I was raised by an amazing woman who taught me so much about Motherhood. She has set the bar high and I don’t want to disappoint you,”

Insight into Shanina Shaik’s pregnancy journey

Shanina is in her second trimester at the moment. As per the report, she is having a “fall baby”. While speaking to E! News she shared her experience of recent months, she said,

“It’s been really difficult to keep it quiet, especially with the circumstances of my work as well. As a lot of moms and pregnant women know, it’s common to be nauseous with morning sickness in the first trimester,”

She is “very pleased” with how her pregnancy has gone so far. She revealed,

“It was really difficult to be nauseous in the first three or four months while I’ve been working. I’ve been able to work and have fun too, which has been really great so far.”

While talking to PEOPLE, the pregnant Shanina added that she and her boyfriend Matthew Adesuyan are excited to bring a child into the world.

She explained,

“He’s just excited to share this experience together as well. We’re very much in love, and to bring a beautiful life into this world is quite special.”
