A few months later, in February, Mary’s husband found their love letters. On March 4, 1997, she was arrested for second-degree rape and was released on bail.

On May 23, 1997, she gave birth to their first child, Audrey. Three months later, she pleaded guilty to child rape in exchange for three months sentence instead of a longer one. The judge agreed to release her on the condition that she would never meet Vili again.

In February 1998, the police caught them in a vehicle together with some cash, baby clothing, and a passport and suspected them of trying to flee away.

In the winter of the same year, she got pregnant with their second child. She was sentenced to 7 and a half years in prison. In October 1998, she gave birth to their second baby, Georgia inside the prison.

Vili and his mother took care of their child. However, he suffered from depression and even attempted suicide. It was a really hard time for him as he had trouble raising his babies financially and mentally.

On August 4, 2004, Mary was released from prison and the couple got married on May 20, 2005, in a winery house located in Washington. They got divorced in May 2017.
