Vishal Garg is the founder and CEO of Better.com.

This company became the first and only digital-first homeownership company founded with a goal to make the lives of Americans better by making homes more affordable, accessible, and better.

As per his LinkedIn account, his company has been providing over $40 BN in home financing and $16BN in cumulative coverage through Better Cover and Better Settlement Services.

Previously, he worked as the Founding Partner of Phoenix Holdings and One Zero Capital.

Garg attended the New York University of Leonard N. Stern School of Business and graduated with a BS degree in Finance and International Business. He went to Stuyvesant High School.

Why are Executives resigning from Better.com?

Vishal Garg has been the topic of discussion after he made an unusual move in his company. He fired around 900 employees from his mortgage company over Zoom Call.

Garg received huge backlash after the footage of him firing a massive number of employees went viral on social media.

Since his business move, three top executives of his company Better.com have resigned. After all the backlash, he has apologized for being unprofessional. But his apology did not help to heal the damage done.

Those who resigned are head of public relations Tanya Gillogley, head of marketing Melanie Hahn, and VP of communications Patrick Lenihan. Vishal said,

“I realize that the way I communicated this news made a difficult situation worse,”

During the zoom call, his exact words were,

“This isn’t news that you’re going to want to hear…If you’re on this call, you are part of the unlucky group that is being laid off. Your employment here is terminated effective immediately,”

As per Fobes, he also sent an email to his employees which reads,

“HELLO — WAKE UP BETTER TEAM, You are TOO DAMN SLOW. You are a bunch of DUMB DOLPHINS and…DUMB DOLPHINS get caught in nets and eaten by sharks. SO STOP IT. STOP IT. STOP IT RIGHT NOW. YOU ARE EMBARRASSING ME.”
