Why did American actor, Al Pacino never get married?

American actor, Al Pacino, 83 has never married. But he has enjoyed multiple relationships until now. He has four children and the last one was born in June 2023.

Al’s relationships with his girlfriends have been overlapping and with some, it was of on-off type.

Al Pacino and his varied relationships

American actor, Al Pacino is a perennial bachelor. He has dated several beauties over the years. But he never married any one of them. Who have been his girlfriends?

Most of the relationships of Al have been of the on-off type and seem to be overlapping. It is not certain whether he dated two women at the same time but it is highly likely.

In 1967, Al started a relationship with American actress Jill Clayburgh. This relationship lasted until 1975 though in between, Al also was spotted with American Beauty Tuesday Weld in 1972 and 1973.

Overlapping with these two relationships, the actor was also dating his co-star actress Diane Keaton from 1971. But this relationship was of the on-off type giving Al time and opportunity in between to date other girls.

His romance with Diane went on until 1991 when they finally called it quits for good.

Al had romantic encounters with Spanish socialite Carmen Cervera, 80 from 1976 to 1977 and also with German aristocrat and actress Veruschka von Lehndorff. Once Diane had told in an interview:

“Al was simply the most entertaining man… To me, that’s, that is the most beautiful face. I think Warren [Beatty] was gorgeous, very pretty, but Al’s face is like whoa. Killer, killer face.”

Al’s other girlfriends

Al was dating Swiss actress Marthe Keller from 1976 to 1978. He was romancing American TV and film actress Kathleen Quinlan from 1979 to 1981.

Later, he dated acting coach, Jan Tarrant from 1988 to 1989. But they separated after their daughter Julie arrived in this world.

In 1990, Al started a relationship with Australian film producer and director, Lyndall Hobbs. This continued until 1996. But he was also dating American actress Penelope Ann Miller for a couple of years in 1993 and 1994.

Al was in romantic involvement with American actress Beverly D’Angelo from 1997 to 2003. Later, he started dating Argentina actress Lucila Solá in 2008. Their relationship lasted a decade and they parted ways in 2018.

Al was in a relationship with Israeli musician and actress Meital Dohan from 2018 to 2020. And he began dating producer Noor Alfallah in 2019 but they separated in 2023. Noor and Al had a wide age gap of 54 years between them.

Al and his children

Al Pacino has four children in total out of his numerous relationships around the world. The eldest child is daughter Julie Marie who was born on 16 October 1989.

Her mother is acting coach Jan Tarrant. Later, Al had twin babies; son Anton James and daughter Olivia Rose. These were born on 25 January 2001 to actress Beverly D’Angelo.

And this year, on 15 June 2023, Al had a son with his then-girlfriend Noor. They named the child Roman. Al is the oldest father on record. He was 83 when Roman was born.

Al is surely a lady’s man. But people wonder why he never married. He grew up in a broken home of immigrants from Sicily. His childhood was in a slum in the Bronx.

He had vowed quite early in his life that he would never marry in his lifetime. Al had told in an interview given to The Independent:

“Why I never proposed in the past? I hate to say this, but marriage is a state of mind, not a contract. When I think about the law and marriage, I ask myself, when did the cops get involved?”

His relationship with Diane ended because Diane wanted to get married to him. And, therefore, he walked out of that relationship.
