American actress Kim Zolciak’s surprise ‘puppy’ gift to her son Kash despite him suffering a bad dog-bite four months back!

Kim Zolciak surprise gift to her son Kash

American reality TV actress of ‘Housewives of Atlanta’ fame Kim Zolciak surprised her fans and viewers when she revealed on social media that she has gifted her son Kasha a puppy on his 5^th birthday.

Kim Zolciak took to Snapchat to post some photos of her son Kash holding and cuddling the new gift. Kash was seen seated in the back of their car seat.

She captioned the photo with 2 heart-eye emojis and wrote:

“My heart is going to explode,”

It was a Pit Bull puppy and the family decided to name it Sailor. She also put up a couple of photos of her husband with the puppy.

The actress seemed very happy that her son Kash has readily accepted the puppy and was not afraid of it. It might be recalled that Kash had a severe dog bite on the face 3 months back. Kim also expressed her birthday wishes for Kash on her Instagram.

She wrote:

“Happy 5th Birthday to my sweet @kashbiermann no words to describe how much joy, happiness and excitement.”

She added:

“You have brought to our family. We love you so very much (a lot for me to handle 1st day of kindergarten yesterday & today his birthday) my animal loving, heart of gold, smart, sweet little angel I’m forever grateful you chose me to be your mommy!! You are in for an INCREDIBLE day and some BIG surprises!!”

Kash is joining kindergarten this year. Likewise, Kash is an animal lover, and explaining her decision of the puppy gift, Kim said:

“Kash is an absolute animal lover and I didnt/don’t want him to fear animals after all he has been through.”

She further narrated:

“The 2nd day he was in the hospital their was a service dog visiting all the children and I asked Kash if he wanted to see the dog, ‘He screeched Yes’ and was all snuggled up to the dog in less than a minute as if nothing ever happened!”

The dog-bite incident

Kim had come on Andy Cohen’s show in early May 2017 and had discussed her son Kash’s dog bite which occurred at the end of April 2017.

She did not delve into the details of the incident, saying:

“[We’ve] been advised not to [talk about it] at this point,”

But Kash had to be rushed to the emergency when he had a bad dog bite on his face on the left side near the eye. He needed wound care and emergency plastic surgery.

His recovery was remarkable and Kim had shared some of his photos during the phase of healing. She also thanked her doctor for all the good work that could help Kash feel good even during his ordeal.

She further clarified:

“I could see him being a vet at some point, that’s how much he loves dogs, cats,”

Dog-Bite injuries

After a dog bite, it is best to visit the nearest clinic. First aid can be commenced at home by keeping the part elevated, cleaning the area with soap and water, and applying some temporary sterile dressing over it.

The treating physician would debride the area removing any dirt, bacteria, or dead tissue. Stitches might be applied. If the wound is severe or on the face such as in the case of little Kash, cosmetic surgery might be needed.

If it is a fully vaccinated dog, the anti-rabies vaccine could wait or can be avoided. But if it is a stray dog and observation of the dog cannot be done, anti-rabies vaccination is commenced right away.

If the dog dies within 10 days of the injury, the anti-rabies vaccination is mandatory and the complete course must be taken properly. Oral antibiotics may need to be taken.
