Jim Simons landed in his private charter plane for the 2022 medical help at the Tribhuvan International Airport on October 10, 2022. He is aiming to visit Nepal each year and reach out for medical assistance for over a decade and a half now.

While the tourist season just came in Nepal, the members of the Nick Foundation are already here. James Harris Simons and his second wife Marolyn Simons headed to Gorkha Hospital for financial support and observation this year.

Simons, the founder of Renaissance Technology Corporation, has been providing financial support for the expansion of medical services and operations through the Nick Simons Institute for 16 years.

Simons is Helping Nepal as a Part of his late son Nick’s Dream

Kashim Shah, senior program manager revealed that the American billionaire couple is expanding hospitals across the country cooperating with the Ministry of Health stating,

“We have been cooperating with the Ministry of Health under the Hospital Support Program since 2006. Under this, the organization has been providing support in the areas of human resources, training, materials, etc. Gorkha is the youngest hospital.”

Nick Simons memorial foundation signed a four-year hospital support program agreement on behalf of the Gorkha Hospital in July 2021. As the manager further revealed the shocking reason why the philanthropist is regularly aiding medical services in Nepal.

“Nick first came to Nepal during trekking. At the same time, he made an aim to provide medical services in Nepal. Began medical studies in New York. He later died while swimming in Bali. According to his wishes, James Harris Simons and Marilyn Simons established this organization.”
