TJ Holmes and Amy Robach’s Relationship – When did it start?

TJ Holmes started as a freelancer on the ABC team in September 2014 and later became an anchor alongside Amy Robach in December of the same year. They quickly became good friends and went on double dates with their respective spouses, Shue and Fiebig.

In September 2020, Holmes officially became co-anchor with Robach on ABC’s revamped talk show, GMA3: What You Need to Know. They were still close, but their ‘friendship’ did not raise any concerns at the time.

In 2021, they decided to train together for a half-marathon and formed a bond outside of work. Both of them were very public about it as they constantly uploaded pictures and videos alongside each other on social media.

The News Of Their Affair Broke In November 2022

In November 2022, the Daily Mail released photos of Amy Robach and TJ Holmes together, showing them holding hands and touching each other on various outings during the month.

This revealed that the co-anchors were in a romantic relationship despite their marriages.

In December 2022, after the news was all over the news, they didn’t directly talk about the scandal on their show but did make jokes and hinted about it, mentioning that they needed “words of wisdom” and referenced their “great week.”

Holmes joked:

“It’s too bad it’s Friday. It’s been a great week. I just want this one to keep going and going and going. Just enjoying it. … Take it all in.”

Laughing at this Amy replied:

“Speak for yourself.”

TJ Holmes and Amy Both Got Fired After Being Placed on Hiatus

In December 2022, Amy Robach and TJ Holmes were suspended from their jobs due to the whole affair scandal.

According to TMZ, ABC’s President Kim Godwin described their relationship as a “distraction” both inside and outside the company.

Despite the internal review being conducted by ABC, Robach, and Holmes were seen together at the Atlanta airport soon for Christmas.

In January 2022, ABC confirmed that the two journalists would be leaving the morning show for two weeks with Us Weekly being the first to report the news.

The network said in an official statement:

“After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, about different options, we all agreed it’s best for everyone that they move on from ABC News.”

ABC then went on to thank them for their contributions:

“We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are thankful for their contributions.”

In February 2023, they were seen sharing a kiss as they sunbathed poolside at a resort in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. They seem to be enjoying their time together and have nothing to hide now as they have both gotten divorced.

They both were married to different people but have now gotten divorced

On December 1, 2022, reports surfaced that Amy had started divorce proceedings with her husband Andrew, to whom she had been married for 12 years. Page Six verified this information.

A close friend told Page Six:

“Amy and Andrew are divorcing, it’s almost finalized. He moved out earlier this summer.”

In the same month, on the 28th, Holmes also started the process of ending his marriage to Fiebig, whom he had been separated from since August, after 12 years of being together.

A few days prior to this, TJ was spotted at the Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, arm in arm with Robach. It was reported that they were headed for a romantic trip as a couple, just before New Year’s Eve.

According to an insider who spoke to Page Six, TJ’s wife, Fiebeg was surprised upon learning of Holmes’s relationship with Robach.
