America’s Got Talent Season 5 Winner Michael Grimm Hospitalized for Mystery Illness!

What happened to AGT winner Michael Grimm?
Singer Michael Grimm, the winner of America Got Talent’s season 5 is undergoing treatment after a mystery illness struck him last week.
His wife Lucie Zolverva-Grimm revealed that the blues musician is getting treatment in intensive care as of Wednesday.
The 44-year-old musician’s spouse updated fans about her husband’s worrying condition. She shared with her husband’s 7k followers that it all started when he started looking sickly and started behaving in a fussy manner.
Lucie said that the Mississippi native is breathing normally again but is still unconscious. She added that her husband will have to undergo vocal cords after being on a ventilator. It has caused him to have no voice.
It is still not clear what caused Grimm to be in a grave condition.
Around the time of hospitalization, Michael was unable to finish one of his live shows.
His wife also explained that the singer who proposed to her on The Ellen Show in 2010, almost reached a point where he almost lost his walking capacity.
Mrs. Grimm said,
“I rushed him to the ER because I thought something was wrong, like he was having a stroke or something. That wasn’t the case, luckily,”
“Whatever was going on in his body from whatever, toxins I guess, they were going to his brain, he started talking gibberish.”

What won Grimm the title of AGT winner?
Due to the severity of his illness, Michael has now been bedridden for a week and once he gets better, he will undergo physical therapy. Lucie added,
“He is improving, so that is good. It’s just taking time,”
She also said that he is still sedated despite not being on a ventilator anymore.
Grimm tasted fame after auditioning for AGT in 2010. He wowed the audience and the judges with his blues music and even went on to win the show.
In the final round, he defeated 10-year-old opera singer Jackie Evancho.
After winning a $1 million prize, the crooner said,
“I really thought Jackie had it in the bag,”
“This is definitely an out-of-body experience. This whole journey has been, but especially now.”
The then 30-year-old singer’s performance was When A Man Loves a Woman was dedicated to his then-girlfriend Lucie at the time.
