Anita Pointer from Grammy-winning Pointer Sisters dies on New Year’s Eve 2022 following her cancer battle. The singer died peacefully at her home while being surrounded by her loved ones as her publicist confirmed,
“While we are deeply saddened by the loss of Anita, we are comforted in knowing she is now with her daughter, Jada, and her sisters June and Bonnie, and at peace.”
The death statement of the Automatic and I’m So Excited singer continues to offer condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased,
“She was the one that kept all of us close and together for so long. Her love of our family will live on in each of us. Please respect our privacy during this period of grief and loss. Heaven is a more loving, beautiful place with Anita there.”
The late musician is survived by her four closest survivors, her sister, Ruth, brothers Aaron and Fritz, and her granddaughter Roxie McKain Pointer.
Pointer left an estimated net worth of $ 5 million after her demise. It’s not the first time someone from the Pointers family died of cancer. Anita’s daughter died of cancer aged 37 in 2003 while her sister June died in 2006 due to cancer.
The last death before Anita’s was Bonnie Pointer died from a cardiac arrest at her home in Los Angeles on June 8, 2020, at the age of 69.
