Annie Wersching who played the recurring role of Amelia Joffe on the ABC soap opera General Hospital died of cancer nearly 3 years into her diagnosis. The motion picture artist for the classic PlayStation game The Last of Us is now in memory.

Wersching who was diagnosed with cancer in 2020, is now survived by her husband Stephen Full, and three sons, Freddie, 12, Ozzie, 9, and Archie, 4. As per the fundraiser campaign going on GoFundMe for her funeral and memorial services, Wersching always wanted a secure future for her kids.

The Vampire Diaries actress’ husband Stephen Full is mourning the untimely death of her kids, he reported to Deadline,

“There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And find it we shall.”

Full’s statement continued on talking about his sons and a final goodbye to his wife Annie Wersching whom he referred to as Buddie and his little family.

“As I drove our boys, the true loves of her life, down the winding driveway and street, she would yell BYE! until we were out of earshot and into the world. I can still hear it ringing. Bye, my Buddie. ‘I love you, little family…'”

Celebrities and co-stars led a tribute to Wersching

The Timeless co-star Abigail Spencer mourned over his demise calling her the arch nemesis. It was a beautiful yet heartbreaking tribute post about her friend Annie Wersching on Instagram, which read

“My darling @anniewersching ?,” she began her caption. “The best scene partner. My arch #Timeless nemesis, where we could barely keep a straight face. This is a devastating loss to our community. She was the backbone of many of your favorite shows & ours. The ringer. When you needed someone to come in and kick ass or elevate a storyline or your lifeline: call Annie. This is so hard… Steve… no words. Sending you & the boys heaps of love & support.”

Neil Druckmann, co-president of Naughty Dog created the Playstation game The Last of Us, on the devastating news of the death of their artist posted a tribute on Twitter,

“Just found out my dear friend, Annie Wersching, passed away. We just lost a beautiful artist and human being. My heart is shattered. Thoughts are with her loved ones.”

In addition,  24‘s lead Kiefer Sutherland wrote a condolence message to her co-star Wersching, who portrayed Renee Walker in seasons 7 and 8 of 24, which state,

“The world lost a light today @Wersching was one of the greatest actors I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, and my friend. My heart breaks for her young family. May she be remembered for the beautiful person that she was.”

24 director Jon Cassar also is saddened by the death of the actress and shared his memories with Wersching, including his favorite photo of the two on Twitter. Meanwhile, he wrote,

“We lost a beautiful soul today, a friend, a incredible talent, and the best mom and wife. @anniewershing you left your mark and you’ll be missed. This is my favorite picture of the many I took, from the time we spent together on 24.”

Annie Wersching’s co-star Dana Delaney, who shared the screen in Body of Proof, tweeted addressing how she was a phenomenal woman writing,

“Just the saddest news about Annie Wersching. She was a beautiful light & a FORCE. When we met, I thought she was a stunt woman, she was so scary good. It turned out she was just a phenomenal woman.”
