Aunjanue Ellis is an All-American actress, and producer who rose to prominence in the early 2000s  for featuring in the films like Men of Honor (2000), The Caveman’s Valentine (2001), and Undercover Brother (2002).

Ellis portrayed the character of  Brandi Williams in the 2021 film King Richard. As a result, she is nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, and the British Academy Film Awards.

Further, Aunjanue played several roles in the Broadway production of Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, A Winter’s Tale, Drowning Crow, and Seeking the Genesis. She portrayed the role of  Serena & Venus Williams’ mother, working with Will Smith & learning tennis in King Richard.

Also, she acted as Miranda Shaw on ABC’s ‘Quantico’, and appeared on BET’s epic series ‘The Book of Negroes’. For the same role, she won the Television Critics’ Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Movie.
