She was born to parents Stephen Langford (father), he is a flying doctor and director of Royal Doctor Service Western Operations.

Professional life over studies

Formerly Katherine was a high school swimmer after hearing Lady Gaga, she began writing songs. She has three original songs she wrote titled “I’ve Got a Crush on Zoe Bosch,” “Young and Stupid,” and “3 Words.”

She also wrote an anti-suicide song back in 2013 “Young and Stupid”. Therefore, she also achieved education in music and drama from Perth Modern School in 2013.

Initially, she started voice lessons in classical, jazz, and contemporary vocals back in 2005. During her final year at Perth Modern School, she chose to stop swimming and focus on music and performance.

During that time, Katherine was good at musical events as well as drama competitions.

After she graduated from high school, she made the aim to become an Actress. But as a young actress, she had to face different difficulties.

Katherine majored in Music Theatre at the Principal Academy of Dance & Theatre Arts. She also received the role of Juan Perón’s mistress in 2015 by training in the Nicholson’s Academy of Screen Acting.

The following year, she landed her role in Imperfect Quadrant (2016 film).

In 2017, she heard about auditions for 13 Reasons Why and sent a videotape i.e. audition via Skype, and won the part. Brian Yorkey, the show’s creator shared,

“It was tricky and very, very challenging casting Hannah, We saw many talented, wonderful actresses, but we just needed the person that brought that very special luminosity. We needed that, and that came via a self-tape from Perth, Australia, in the form of Katherine Langford.”

This series led to an increase in discussions about teen suicides. Talking about this matter, Katherine said:

“Overall, I think it was a good thing. You need there to be opinions in order for there to be discussions, and that’s really what the show is about — talking about issues that are taboo or that people wouldn’t usually discuss with parents or teachers.”

She also led her voice in Robot Chicken as Steffy in the episode titled “No Wait, He Has a Cane”. She has also been able to receive the main role of Nimue in 2019’s Cursed. Katherine appeared in the 2018’s The Misguided and Love, Simon.
