A source close to the Through the Storm author revealed that she has been trying to get in touch with Britney over the phone but it is of no use.
The 67-year-old’s comment comes after Britney wrote on her Instagram account on Friday that her family has “no conscious [sic] whatsoever and really believe in their minds they have done nothing wrong at all” referring to her years-long conservatorship.
Britney’s father Jamie Spears was in control of her personal medical and financial decisions from February 2008 until it ended in September 2021.
After years of legal battle, a Los Angeles judge terminated the conservatorship altogether in November last year. It happened nearly 5 months after the Toxic singer claimed in court that her father, 70, forcefully sent her to a mental health facility and even sent her to go on a tour against her will.
That time on Instagram, Britney added:
“I don’t have a family that values me or respects me …. AT ALL !!!”
“That’s the hard part for me and as much as I loved them, it’s something that I’ll [sic] probably ever won’t be able to get over.”
A source revealed that Britney was hurt by her mother Lynne’s inaction because they were always very close. Meanwhile, her relationship with her dad Jamie was always strained, even before the conservatorship.
The source also revealed that despite asking for her daughter’s forgiveness, Lynne is still requesting over $600,000 in legal fees from the singer.
