Candiace Dillard and Chris Bassett walked down the aisle on 11th August 2018. She wore her pageant gown as her wedding gown. She said,
“As a former pageant queen and self-proclaimed girly girl, I knew I wanted a grand wedding that epitomized classic sophistication, with a touch of Southern charm as a nod to my Mississippi and Georgia roots,”
Chris proposed to her in front of 100 family members and friends at Myron Mixon’s Pitmaster BBQ in May of 2017. She hired Strawberry Milk Events to execute her wedding at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium.
For her wedding dress, she went straight to Karen Sabag Couture for a custom creation that took eight months to get ready. Her gown featured a corset and full skirt draped in 70 yards of imprinted pearl cream silk organza.
Candiace is bejeweled with 80 yards of hand-sewn Swarovski crystals and finished off with two French bows at the shoulders. She shared,
“The grandness of the venue can’t be denied. The lofty ceilings, the marble and stone accents, the gilded details, the parquet floors… it was a dream!”
Similarly, for the guests, they served a modern twist on a classic French menu. It included watermelon and smoked feta salad followed by braised short ribs with mushroom demi-glace, pan-roasted sea bass with fried pickled leeks, and summer pappardelle with grilled seasonal vegetables.

Candiace Dillard was born on 14th December 1986 in Biloxi, Mississippi. She is 33 years old at present. She is the daughter of Walter Dillard and Dorothy Dillard and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. Her parents are Air Force Physicians and she has siblings Chris and Crystal.

In the year 2009, she founded an organization called My Sister’s Keeper. Also, her organization works as a mentorship and women’s empowerment organization designed to give young girls the opportunity to interact with women in their communities.
