The “Up” rapper took to Instagram on Sunday evening, December 10, to share the heartbreaking news that she and Offset have called it quits on their marriage.

The separation comes almost six years after their marriage. On September 20, 2017, the two secretly married before the Migos rapper proposed to her onstage at Power 99’s Powerhouse concert in Philadelphia in October that same year.

“I’ve been single for a minute now but I have been afraid to like — not afraid, I just don’t know how to tell the world. But I feel like today has been a sign. The last time I got on Live, I kind of wanted to tell you guys, but I didn’t know how to tell you, so I changed my mind. But it has been like this for a minute now. I just took it as a sign.”
“I wanna start 2024, like, fresh, open, I don’t know. I’m curious for a new life, for a new beginning. And yeah, I’m excited.”

The split news comes over a week after the duo unfollowed each other on Instagram. In an Instagram live session, she acknowledged dropping hints about the split since early December.

“I don’t know if you guys have been getting clues from me, from my Lives, or from my Stories, when I put some certain music, or find my unfollowings,”

Rumors of trouble between Cardi B and Offset started in June when Offset accused Cardi B of cheating, but she denied it. Later, Offset admitted that he had lied about it.

This isn’t the first time their marriage has been on the edge of breaking down. In December 2018, Cardi B first announced on Instagram that she and Offset had gone their separate ways.

She said at the time,

“We got a lot of love for each other, but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time,It’s nobody fault I guess we just grew out of love, but we are not together anymore. It might take time to get a divorce and I’m going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father.”

Fortunately, the pair got back together in January 2019 after the birth of their first child a daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus. Kulture was born on July 10, 2018.

Similarly, Cardi B and Offset had a second breakup in September 2020. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper filed for divorce from Offset at an Atlanta courthouse after she reportedly found out that Offset had been unfaithful towards her.

However, the split didn’t last long, as the two were seen kissing at Cardi’s birthday party the following month.

In November 2020, the couple ultimately decided to call off their divorce “without prejudice”.

Over a year after they reunited, the couple welcomed their second child together a son Wave Set Cephus, born on September 4, 2021.

Further, the “Handsome and Wealthy” rapper is also a father to two sons Jordan and Kody, and a daughter Kalea Marie Cephus from his previous relationship.
