Catt Sadler quit E! News after the dispute in equal payment
After knowing her co-host had been making double more money than her for several years, Catt Sadler quit her position on E! News. Catt has served in E! for several years and also appeared as a host of Daily 10 and then E! News since 2006.
She took the step when an E! executive informed her of the “massive disparity” in pay around the time. When she knew about renewing the contract, she took out the issue.
Catt also described the news on her site with a lengthy post. Furthermore, in the note, she explained:
“My team and I asked for what I know I deserve and were denied repeatedly,”
Moreover, in the note, she also included that E! refused to take into account her “two decades experience in broadcasting”. She and her co-host Jason Kennedy whom she mentions as her close friend started the same year on the network.
In the note, she also added that she is a single mother of two boys and wanted to stay at her job. Moreover, she also mentioned that she also wanted to stay in the job, but knows women won’t be able to “invoke lasting change” if they don’t “speak their truth” and fight for equality.
Afterward, she also posted a small message about leaving E! on her Twitter account. She wrote:
“It’s true. Today will be my last day on #DailyPop and @enews. I hope you’ll tune in so I can thank you for the memories. I love you guys SO much it hurts.”

Olivia Munn also made a tweet supporting Catt on her decision. In her tweet, she wrote:
Damn, Catt? It’s so disappointing to find out that @enews– a network that depends on female viewers- felt your value was worth only half of your male counterpart. It’s not easy to do what you did and I’m so proud of you for it. How will anyone know you’re worth it, if you don’t? https://t.co/E4zc9RTER1
