Chris Hemsworth will be doing lesser movies
Chris Hemsworth revealed that he is taking lesser roles but not retiring after knowing that he is at a very high risk of suffering from Alzheimer’s disease later in his life.
But fans worry that the actor might disappear from movies in the distant future.
The Marvel actor has four big projects lined up including the famous Thor character in an upcoming Avengers sequel and a Hulk Hogan biopic.
But sources say that after those projects, “he doesn’t plan to take on many roles because of [learning about his high risk for] Alzheimer’s.”
While the Aussie actor himself admitted that he’s “not talking about retiring by any means,” insiders believe that it looks like he is heading in that direction.
The 39-year-old actor found out he is at high risk for the disease while he was busy filming his National Geographic and Disney+ docuseries, “Limitless.”
Chris recently spoke about “the intensity [of] navigating” the test results last November, and emphasized it’s not a diagnosis — just a sign that the neurodegenerative disease is more likely to be in his future than it is for most people.”
He said,
“Most of us, we like to avoid speaking about death,”
“Then to all of a sudden be told some big indicators are actually pointing to this as the route which is going to happen, the reality of it sinks in. Your own mortality.”
Hemsworth and Pataky’s happy marriage
Hemsworth also decided to take some time off after learning that he is eight to 10 times more likely to battle Alzheimer’s.
He added,
“I’ve been completing the things I was already contracted to do,”
He said that he wants to be home and have a good chunk of time off to be with his wife and kids.
Chris shares three kids – India, 10, and twins Tristan and Sasha, 9, with his wife Elsa Pataky.
The lovebirds first met in 2010 when Chris’s talent agent introduced them. They started dating in September of that year.
Later in an interview with Elle, Hemsworth opened up about their first moments together, saying,
“There was no lightbulb moment. From the first time we met, we just made sense.”
He also praised Elsa, saying,
“She’s fun. She’s outgoing, and she has a sense of humor and a passionate attitude toward life, which is nice to try and keep up with.”
The couple tied the knot in December 2010, just three months after making their relationship official.
The pair celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary in 2020.
