English singer, Chris Martin, 47 and American actress, 34 Dakota Johnson have been dating for many years. Now, some sources have claimed that the two are already engaged many years back. Is it true?

Are Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson engaged?

Page Six reports that Hollywood insiders have revealed to them about the secret engagement of English singer, Chris Martin, 47 and American beauty, Dakota Johnson, 34. Chris proposed to Dakota several years back and she said yes. The exact date of engagement remains unclear. Moreover , the two did not announce about the engagement to media outlets or their fans and preferred to keep it confidential.

Mirror UK has revealed that the two own a beachfront mansion in Malibu that is worth USD 14.4 million. They are also preparing for their wedding that will happen in the near future. But the date is not fixed yet. However, an inside source told Mirror UK:

“They are in no rush to plan the wedding but are just enjoying making their commitment official.”

It is also added that Chris Martin’s ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow gave her blessings to the couple. Last October, Gwyneth had disclosed that she has a good friendship with Dakota and described Dakota as a wonderful and adorable person.

The relationship timeline of the couple

Dakota and Chris were first linked romantically in October 2017. However, their relationship has seen its ups and downs. The two had split for sometime in 2019.

It was in 2020 that rumors of their engagement surfaced when Dakota was spotted wearing a giant emerald ring in her left ring finger. However, she used to wear this ring intermittently.

When she celebrated her 34th birthday with Chris in October 2023 at the romantic eatery Pace in Los Angeles, she had the dazzling ring on her finger. In November the same year, she was honored by the Hope for Depression Research Foundation in New York City. At that time also, she wore the ring.

However, she was sans the engagement ring when she hosted “Saturday Night Live” in January 2024 and attended the after party at Zuma in New York City. Chris was not with her at the party.
