While David McKienzie was in college, he played on the volleyball team at Long Beach State from 1998 to 2001. The team was named o the All-American second team and the NCAA All-Tournament team in 1999.
David made his debut for the U.S national team in 2001. Along with U.S national team, he won the NORCECA Zone Championships. Also, David helped the team to win gold medals at America’s Cup, the NORCECA Continental Championship, and the FIVB World Grand Champions Cup.
David left the national team since 2008 and started playing in Puerto Rico and Kuwait. He came back in the year 2012.
