Demi Lovato shared a heartbreaking story of her life in her Docu-series Dancing with the Devil.
Demi revealed that she was raped when she was a teen.
In 2008, when she was 15 years old, she had her breakthrough in the Disney Channel movie Camp Rock with the Jonas Brothers.

Demi revealed,

“I lost my virginity in a rape. We were hooking up but I said, ‘Hey, this is not going any farther, I’m a virgin and I don’t want to lose it this way.’ And that didn’t matter to them, they did it anyways. And I internalized it and I told myself it was my fault because I still went in the room with him, I still hooked up with him.”

Lovato revealed that she and her Disney stars Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, and Jonas Brothers all made a pact that they would not lose their virginity till marriage.

She added,

“I didn’t have the romantic first time with anybody, that was not it for me and that sucked. And then I had to see this person all the time, and so I stopped eating and coped in other ways: cutting, throwing up, whatever. And my bulimia got so bad that I started throwing up blood for the first time.”

The person responsible for her rape never faced any repercussions. That person was never taken out of the movie they were part of. She had feared so she never came out about her sexual assault.

The reason for her fear was that Rihanna was the one blamed after Chris Brown assaulted her back in the year 2009. She revealed how women are more oppressed than men.

Sexual Assault on the morning of the overdose

It was not the end of Demi Lovato’s traumatic rape experience in her teen days. Demi has always struggled with drug addiction as all of her fans and followers know.

Once in the summer of 1018, she was sexually assaulted on the morning of her overdose. She was sober for six years when she decided to attend a party where she got into drugs again.

On 23rd July 2018, Demi went to multiple bars with her friends and partied at her Los Angeles home.

She revealed,

“I didn’t just overdose – I also was taken advantage of. I’ve had my fair share of sexual trauma throughout childhood, teenage years. And when they found me, I was naked, I was blue. I was literally left for dead after he took advantage of me.”

When she woke up in the hospital, she was asked if she had had sexual sex and after that, she had a flash of what had happened to her.
