The Former Olympian, Deon Lendore, 29 dies in a car accident! His girlfriend’s tribute

The Olympic bronze medalist, Deon Lendore dies on the spot after his car accident in Texas. He was 29. Lendore took his last breath at the scene on Monday 10 January 2022.
His car drifted across lanes and collided with an SUV and another vehicle. The driver of the SUV, a 65-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Further, the driver of another vehicle did not receive any physical injuries.
The cause of the cars crash is still under investigation. According to Texas A&M University, Lendore was returning home from practice when he was involved in a car crash.

Tributes for Louie Rankin
Lendore’s girlfriend, Jasper Gray posted a tribute over his death. Gray is a runner from the University of Arizona.
She tweets,
“I was JUST with you YESTERDAY! To think I would never get see U again, never get to warm me up with your natural body heat, never get to watch U rin around a track again or cheer U on at the Olympics/World Champs again breaks me to pieces. I will always love U @deonlendore.”
Similarly, the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee released a statement to provide condolences to the athlete’s family and friends.
They said,
“Words cannot adequately express our sadness at the devastating and untimely loss of 3x Olympian and Olympic and World Championship bronze medalist Deon Lendore who has been an inspiration and motivation to us all both on an (sic) off the track,”
Deon Lendore’s career
Lendore was a volunteer assistant coach at Texas A&M. He was a three-time Olympian from Trinidad and Tobago and had participated in the past three Summer Games.
In 2011, he won a silver medal in the 400 meters at the Pan American Junior Athletics Championships in Miramar Florida.
Similarly, he won the bronze medal in the men’s 4×400 really for Trinidad & Tobago during the 2012 London Olympic Games along with his teammates. He also won silver at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing and bronze medals in the 400m at the 2016 and 2018 World Indoor Championships.

Last year, he competed at his third Olympics the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo where he placed the eighth position with Trinidad and Tobago team in the 4×400 meters relay event.
