Divorced alert! DJ Mustard files for divorce from wife Chanel Thierry over a year of Marriage

DJ Mustard and Chanel Thierry are no longer a married couple!
The musician, whose real name is Dijon Isaiah McFarlane filed for divorce from model Chanel Thierry on Monday, May 2. TMZ was the first to confirm the news citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their separation.
In the filing, the “Want Her” musician also asked for joint legal and physical custody of their three children Kiylan, 10, Kauner, 7, and Kody, 2.
The documents mentioned that the couple had signed a prenup prior to tying the knot in October 2020.

What Chanel Thierry says about their divorce?
On Tuesday (May 3), Thierry took to Instagram to confirm the news as well as thank fans for their support. She wrote in her Instagram story,
“Thank you for the kind words, thoughts and prayers. Anyone that followed me or knows me personally knows my family means the world to me,”
She then concluded by saying,
“I’ve dedicate[d] 12 loyal years and it is more then [sic] heartbreaking to see things end.”

On the other hand, Mustard hasn’t yet commented anything on their divorce.
Relationship timelines
Mustard started dating model Chanel Thierry when he was just 19 years old. After dating for years, they took a step in the relationship and got engaged in 2018.
She posted a lengthy message expressing her love for Mustard and showing off her $500,000 custom Elliante engagement ring. The message began,
“I knew when I met you at 16. It was something about you about us. I didn’t want to mess up. You stayed my friend even tho we both wanted to be more… We were scared,”
She then continued,
“I didn’t want things to go left. We remained really good friends as we watched each other go through failed relationships. Finally, after three years, we decided to take a step out on fate and date.”

DJ Mustard is an American record producer and beatmaker. Through the years, he is a frequent collaborator of fellow California-bred artists YG and Ty Dolla Sign. In June 2013, he released his first mixtape, Ketchup. The same year, he signed as an artist to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation in November 2013.
His second album, Cold Summer released in 2016, and his third album, Perfect Ten released in 2019. Besides, he is also a producer. He produce rapper B.o.B.’s song Headband, which peaked at number 21 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Furthermore, he was named the runner-up for producer of the year by HipHopDX in 2013.
