She is better known as the only female chef-owner of the three-Michelin-starred restaurant Atelier Crenn in San Francisco, California.

Dominique Crenn is a well-known personality. In the year 1980, she moved to San Franciso to pursue her career in cooking. She was interested in cooking since she was young.

Her parents’ support and motivate her in her professional career. Besides this, her first restaurant was at Stars, which is run by Celebrity chef Jeremiah Tower.

To become a professional chef she also worked at Campton Place, 2223 Market, and Yoyo Bistro at the Miyako Hotel. Afterward, she becomes the head chef of the restaurant at Intercontinental Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Also, Dominique Crenn was first Indonesia’s first-ever female head chef. After Returning back to the United States, she became the executing chef for Manhattan Country Club. In the year 2008, she got a new position at Intercontinental Hotel.

Dominique Crenn is a breast cancer survivor 

In 2018, Crenn’s doctor discovered that she had Triple-negative breast cancer. In an interview, she said that food is medicine for healing a sick body, and she used her self-discovery.

She started to maintain her daily diet routine and cut off her meat. Slowly cancer treatments took over her body and she started losing her hair.

After eight months of surgeries, Crenn’s cancer went into remission.
