Melania Trump‘s mother, Amalija, is seriously ill, confirms Donald Trump.

The former president of the United States spoke of his wife’s mother’s health status, confirming that is the reason why Melania remained absent from his family’s Christmas and New Year’s celebrations at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump said of Amalija Knav, who is receiving treatment at a hospital in Miami, after revealing that he just got off the phone with Melania,

“Hopefully she’ll be recovering,”
“Hopefully, that’ll be OK, but it’s a tough one, a very tough one.”

Donald, 77, said that his wife “sends her love” to the crowd who gathered at his Palm Beach, Fla., estate to ring in 2024.

He added,

“We just want to wish Amalija that she gets better as quickly as possible.”

Trump, however, did not reveal what was his mother-in-law’s illness.

Internet users sent their wishes to Melania’s mom who is fighting for her life. One wrote on X,

”I’m absolutely wishing the best for Melanie & her mother’s good health & that her mother recovers.”

Another wrote how the media treated Melania,

A third added,

Melania, 53, had fans worried after she was absent from the Trump family photo taken on Christmas.

The photo included Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Kimberly Guilfoyle, Barron Trump, Ivanka Trump, husband Jared Kushner, and their kids, Tiffany Trump and husband Michael Boulos.

Soon enough, a source confirmed that the former model missed the celebrations as she was taking care of her mother.

One insider told Fox News Digital,

“Melania has always been very devoted to her entire family,”
“It should be no surprise that she spent this Christmas with her ailing mother.”

Melania’s absence from several important events comes after she reportedly planned to step up her public appearances to support her husband’s bid for re-election.
