Draya Michele is pregnant

American media personality and model, Draya Michele, 39 chose International Women’s day 2024 to announce about her pregnancy to the world and her fans. On her Instagram, she uploaded a series of photos showing her baby bump. She captioned the post:

“As women, we navigate through so much, often leading us to question, ‘What is my purpose?’ For me, the magic lies in motherhood and the awe-inspiring ability to bring life into this world over the span of two decades,”

Draya continued:

“I have the privilege of bringing another woman into existence.”
“We are overjoyed to share our love for you, little girl,”
“I’m am excited to speak words to the daughter I never thought I’d have.
“We are anxious about your arrival, but take your time — this world can be tough. But know you are being brought into a space of love, security, and adornment.”

She neither named Jalen nor did she tag the post to him. But Washington Wizards star Kyle Kuzma put a congratulatory comment to the post which he tagged to both Jalen and Draya. He wrote:

“It’s up familyyy @jalen @drayamichele ❤️.”

The social media backlash

No sooner had Draya posted her pictorial pregnancy announcement, she received a backlash on the social media about her pregnancy and the timing of the post. One person wrote:

“Oh Draya really thought posting her pregnancy reveal during Women’s month meant that we were gonna congratulate and celebrate her?”

Mehgan James, former Basketball Wives star commented:

“17 years is wilddddd. Having fun with a younger guy is cool bc yall both grown . Having a baby by one that’s the same age as your son speaks a lot a bout your character as a person,”

Draya has a son, Kniko, 21, with an unknown person and another son Jru, 7, with former NFL star Orlando Scandrick. Another social media user wrote:

“Draya really tried to use International Women’s Day to announce her pregnancy as if we don’t know she was a deadbeat to her first son, and is now pregnant by a 22 year old who’s the same age as her son while she’s pushing 40,”

Draya responds to the backlash

A few hours after her first post, Draya responded to the backlash by means of another post that was rather cryptic. She wrote:

“Get comfortable being misunderstood. Only a fraction of people will be able to truly grasp your essence. You are not on anyone else’s timeline of comprehension,”
“Also, it’s none of your business how others choose to perceive you. Most High sees you clearly – let that be enough.”

Draya is Mint Swim founder. She and Jalen began dating last year. Both were seen out together. Jalen is with Houston Rockets since 2021 and has signed a four-year contract with them worth USD 40.8 million.

Draya was at a Rockets game in January 2024. She was in denim overalls and was probably trying hard to hide her baby bump. The baby is due in May 2024.
