‘Split alert’! Ellie Goulding and Caspar Jopling have split after four years of marriage.

On February 23, the singer announced her separation from her husband via Instagram story. She wrote,

“In light of recent stories, I feel I have been left with no choice but to let you all know that Caspar and I privately separated some time ago, We remain the closest of friends and have been successfully co-parenting with our [son’s] best interests at heart.”

Ellie further requested her fans to respect her family’s privacy. The now-estranged couple also shared a two-year-old son Arthur.

Caspar, on the other hand, shared a separate Instagram story on his respective handle confirming their separation that the pair had decided to separate a while ago. He wrote,

“I feel (sadly) that I need to say something on mine and Ellie’s current relationship, that I hope more than anything will make any final tabloid speculation disappear. Our immediate family and close friends have known for some time, Otherwise we chose to do what we could to keep this private.”

What might be the reason for their separation?

The breakup news comes a week after Ellie’s photograph surfaced allegedly kissing another man at the beach.

The man was later identified as Costa Rican surf instructor, Armando Perez. A source told the Sun,

“When Armando wasn’t teaching Ellie, he couldn’t keep his hands off her and pulled her in for a hug and a kiss, Ellie looked blissfully happy and was laughing and joking with him as they messed around in the sea.”

According to the outlet, Casper was then seen walking alone in London without his wedding ring during the same week.

In August 2019, the former couple exchanged vows in England after getting engaged a year before. In May 2021, the pair then blessed with their first child a son named Arthur.

It has been reported that the couple began living separately at the start of 2023.
