Eva Mendes gets emotional ahead of mother’s day

Eva Mendes appeared on a special episode of Today with Hoda and Jenna on the occasion of Mother’s Day.

Hoda Kotb, the host told Mendes:

‘I know you wanted to wish your mother a happy Mother’s Day to you mom.’

It immediately brought an emotional smile to Mendes’s face. The smile quickly turned into tears as the co-host wished Eva’s mother, Perez a happy mother’s day on behalf of everyone from the show.

Eva, who herself is a mother of two children, Esmeralda and Amada was extremely touched by the sweet gesture of the host.

Eva started to give an insight into her mother’s health by saying:

‘She’s not doing too well right now, so, it means a lot to me.’ ‘She’s a survivor in every way, thank you.’

Hoda could not help but shed some tears as Mendes got emotional and got up to give her a sweet hug.

How has Eva Mendes’s life changed after becoming a mom?

During the interview, Eva also shared some information about her two little daughters that she shares with her longtime partner, Ryan Gosling.

Eva was also asked why she waited till 40 to have babies. Her face lit up with joy as she replied hilariously:

”Something really crazy happened,” ‘I met Ryan Gosling, I fell in love with Ryan Gosling, and then I was like “Oh right. I want your babies.”

She giggled at her answer and continued:

‘But really consciously I did want to wait until I was a bit older. I just didn’t feel – really it wasn’t until I met Ryan and fell in love. But also as a woman, I just wasn’t ready. It’s such a personal choice for a woman, obviously. Then you run the risk of… you’re always running a risk. When I was pregnant there was always something to worry about. But thankfully I had really healthy pregnancies and I was happy I waited.’

The 48 years old, Ghost Rider actress confessed that she knew motherhood was her thing when she met Ryan. Mendes who stepped away from acting told the hosts:

‘Yea, that’s when it really made sense.’ I was so I love and I’m like “Oh, I want to create life with you.” And it’s funny because I feel like parenting is the most creative thing that I have ever done.’
