The first mate of the ship decided to surprise his long-time girlfriend with a wedding proposal in Italy.
The two are happy and excited about this important milestone in their life and relationship!

Ciara Duggan and Paget Barry are engaged

The stars of the American TV show on Bravo TV Below Deck Sailing Yacht Ciara Duggan and Paget Berry are engaged. The excited couple shared the happy news on their Instagram feed.

On Thursday 9 July 2020, Ciara uploaded several snaps of the great occasion on her Instagram. In one of these photos, she was kissing Paget on a boat and was holding champagne glasses as the sun is setting in the background.

This happened in Italy and the collection of uploads also has a video. In this video, Paget is seen going down on one knee and proposing to Ciara in front of a beautiful fountain in Genova in Italy. It all looks really romantic.

She captioned this photo collection:

“Well folks, it finally happened,”

And followed it with a smiley and ring emoji.

The same day, Paget too announced on his Instagram:

“I did a thing,”

And put a hashtag of #engaged.

The couple’s relationship timeline

Ciara and Paget know each other for a few years before the start of season one of the show. Their first meeting was when Ciara’s parents recruited Paget to teach them how to sail.

And later, the two were together on the show Below Deck Sailing Yacht. Paget is the first mate on the ship while Ciara is one of his deckhands.

The couple is working together now. Paget even used to flirt with Georgia Grobler and this had put their relationship to the test.

But by the end of the charter season, the couple’s relationship had become very strong. After that, they went for a romantic vacation to Bali in Indonesia. They also worked together on a boat in Italy.

Progress in the couple’s relationship

The two appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen @Home in April 2020. They had revealed that they might get engaged within a year.

Further, Paget said:

“We recently purchased a house in France a few months ago, so that’s a big step forward in our relationship. I’ve always said, ‘Look, the day you wake up and you don’t like me or you don’t love me, you just tell me, and we’ll deal with it when it comes,'”

Paget had also said:

“But as long as we’re happy and moving in the right direction, for now, let’s not put a name on it. But, yeah, I’m sort of secretly hoping that maybe in the future I can get in there with the question.”
