Internet mocks Ivanka Trump for trying to evade testifying in civil fraud case of her father!
The former first daughter, Ivanka Trump had asked for delay in testifying in her father, Donald Trump’s civil fraud trial. But the court has rejected her plea. Know what social media users are saying and mocking her excuse to avoid testifying in the trial.
Donald Trump and his civil fraud case
The former President of the USA, Donald Trump and his sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump are accused of USD 250 million fraud. These three and others were supposedly engaged in a long-running scam in order to show a higher net worth of Donald Trump. They had falsely tried to inflate his net worth. Donald Sr. and Jr. and Eric are co-defendants in the case.
Earlier, Ivanka Trump was also a co-defendant in this same case. But a New York appeals court removed her name from the lawsuit. This deletion was done in early 2023 and was based on the statute-of-limitations grounds. The reason was that Ivanka worked with the Trump Organization only until January 2017 when she was executive vice president for development and acquisitions. Later, she resigned from this post and became the senior adviser to her father at the White House. Hence, she was with the organization earlier than the time when fraud accusations on the Trump Organization are said to have started.
But she has to testify in the case next week on 8 November 2023.
Ivanka Trump tries to avoid testifying
However, Ivanka does not want to testify in this trial. Hence, she asked the New York appeals court to pause the trial. She claimed that her scheduled date for testifying is in the middle of the school week. Therefore, it is causing her undue hardship.
Moreover, Ivanka has another reason to evade testifying in this trial besides the one she has cited. A few days back, her biographer Tim O’Brien was talking to MSNBC on it. He said:
“…And as we all know, Donald Trump has a very perverse, unsettling relationship with his daughter. He’s talked about wanting to date her. He sees her as this sort of trophy he can parade around.”
“She’s going to have to be very careful that the prosecutors simply don’t carve her up like a turkey if she dissembles and lies about how the Trumps presented their financial statements to banks, insurance companies and other third parties.”
But the court denied her request for it. She has to appear on Friday 8/11/23 in the said trial and testify. Lisa Rubin tweeted:

Ivanka’s excuse to avoid testifying in court in the civil fraud case of her father did not go well with the general public. Social media users mocked her for it.
