Jared Leto turned into Karl Lagerfeld‘s favorite pet cat, Choupette at the 2023 Met Gala.

The 30 Seconds to Mars frontman appeared on the red carpet wearing a full fur suit, honoring the late designer’s cat on Monday evening. Fans thought the House of Gucci star did justice to this year’s theme to honor the legacy of Karl.

Leto eventually disassembled the cat head and gave a smile as he proudly showed off his costume of Karl’s famous Birman cat.

The famous cat was thought of making her own appearance on the red carpet but ended up staying home.

The musician who is all set to produce and star in a biopic of the late Chanel designer later changed into a black outfit that consisted of a silver neckline. The 51-year-old paired his stylish look with a black case featuring white shoulder pads.

He also wore black gloves and a smoky eye.

Doja Cat also made her Met Gala debut wearing synthetics on her face to look like a cat.

At the 2022 Met Gala, many confused Leto to be a mystery man on the carpet who was later revealed to be Fredrik Robertsson.

Fredrik wore a silver Iris Van Herpen outfit with silver structured wings. He was mistaken for Leto before the actor eventually arrived on the red carpet with Gucci designer Alessandro Michele, both wearing matching gold suits and red bowties.

At the 2019 event, Leto arrived with a severed head, one that looked just like his own.

In an interview with GQ magazine, Jared later said,

“Honestly, I have no idea. I think someone may have stolen it. If anyone out there finds it, bring it in to your nearest Gucci store in exchange for a pair of dirty sneakers.”

Talking about his upcoming biopic, Jared said that Lagerfeld was definitely an inspiration and went on to call him “a true polymath, an artist, an innovator, a leader, and, most importantly, a kind man.”

He continued,

“When we came together with the Karl Lagerfeld team, we immediately shared a creative vision of doing a respectful ode to Karl while pushing the artistic boundaries of what a biopic can be. I’m so grateful to Karo, Pier and Seb for allowing us to go on this journey together.”
