Later he was traded to Indiana Pacers in exchange for Dale Davis. He earned a trio of honors playing for the Pacers: winning the NBA Most Improved Player Award, being named an NBA All-Star, and making the All-NBA Third Team becoming the second Pacer in history to do so after Reggie Miller. He was traded to Toronto Raptors on 9 July 2008 where he played with a jersey number 6.

On 13 February 2009, he was traded to Miami Heat and after playing for some months from the team he joined Boston Celtics. On 14 July 2010, he signed a two-year contract with the Celtics but waved goodbye on 20 April 2012.

He signed a one-year contract with Phoenix Suns on 15 August 2012 and became a free agent after the contract tenure. On 23 July 2013, he signed with Golden State Warriors.
