His death was confirmed first to NBC News on October 28, 2022.

The Great Balls of Fire singer Jerry Lee Lewis passed away at Desoto County home, Mississippi, south of Memphis.

Sources have confirmed that the legendary musician’s soul no longer rests here. Jerry Lee Lewis died days after there was false reporting of his death by several media outlets.

The absence of the icon Lewis will be felt by the world of rock n’ roll. However, his works, Great Balls of Fire and “Whole Lot Of Shakin’ Going On” will still live in people’s hearts.

Lee Lewis died at age 87 as his death was announced on NBC News on Oct. 28, 2022. According to the death post by Lewis’ biographer, Rick Bragg,

“Judith, his seventh wife, was by his side when he passed away at his home in Desoto County, Mississippi, south of Memphis. He told her, in his final days, that he welcomed the hereafter, and that he was not afraid.”

The sequence of the erroneous death report began after his ill health was disclosed on October 19. He was then too ill with the flu to attend his recent induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame on Oct. 16.

It had been devastating years for Lewis and his family members as he had been coping with various illnesses and injuries he had from time to time. Even his wife, Judith had no second thoughts about her husband being prepared to be with Jesus.

The family of Lewis is mourning his death

His children Jerry Lee Lewis III, Ronnie Lewis, Phoebe Lewis, and Lori Lancaster, a sister, cousin Jimmy Swaggart, and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews are mourning his death.

His parents, two siblings, and sons, Steve Allen Lewis, and Jerry Lee Lewis Jr, who died before him might meet him in paradise. The last wishes of the deceased in his last years were,

“If you asked him, in his waning years, what he hoped people would say about him, he had a simple answer: ‘You can tell ’em I played the piano and sang rock n’ roll.'”

Who was Jerry Lee Lewis?

Jerry Lee Lewis was one of the most loved musicians from the ’50s era who began at the J and M studio. The Killer of the Hollywood was trending for his gospel songs, Million Dollar Quartet, Who’s Gonna Play This Old Piano? , Touching Home, and many others.

His latest work before death was his collaboration with his cousin Swaggart. It became a four-time Grammy winner’s most recent album, gospel record Jimmy Lee & Jerry Lee: The Boys From Ferriday, after released in July 2022.
