Bob Seger is one of the most creative rock and roll artists of his time.
A 2004 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, is a multi-platinum selling artist with 17 studio albums, two live albums, and four compilation albums to his name.

Seger spent the better part of the past 50 years touring, cranking out hits, and providing fans with extraordinary music.

Seger is a Michigan native and spent his early years living in Metro Detroit. When he was six years old, his family moved to Ann Arbor.

Today, Seger still lives in the Detroit area, though he also owns a home in Florida. When Seger is not making music, he enjoys sailing.

He’s twice won the Port Huron to Mackinac Boat Race. At the time, he owned a 52-foot sailboat, which he eventually sold. He’s played several instruments, including the clarinet, guitar, ukulele, and piano.

Seger has said he was initially influenced by his father. In addition, Seger’s father sang in a barbershop quartet.

Seger joined his first band, called the Decibels when he was 15. By the time he was 16 had written his first song. The song was played on the local Ann Arbor radio station.

His marriage with Juanita Dorricott

Seger married Juanita Dorricott in 1993. They were dating for 2 years after getting together in 1991. On 10th July 1993, The wedding ceremony took place.

Christopher Cole and Samantha Char are their two children from the marriage. Currently, he lives mainly at his home in Orchard Lake Village, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit.

Tour postponed

The rest of their 2017 Runaway Train Tour was postponed by Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band after the rocker received doctor’s orders to treat a medical issue concerning his vertebrae.

Seger said on his website,

“I’m so disappointed to have to suspend the tour as the band is on a great roll, It’s a privilege to play for our amazing fans. Hoping to be back out on the road very soon.”

No additional details about Seger’s condition were given. Tickets for the postponed dates will be honored when the concerts are rescheduled.

Seger and the Silver Bullet Band kicked off their Runaway Train tour in August. In Columbus, Ohio, they played 13 shows before first postponing a September 30th gig and then calling off the rest of the trek.

The tour was scheduled to resume on October 5th in Greenville, South Carolina.

While it’s unclear what issues Seger is dealing with. During a 2011 interview with Rolling Stone, the rocker spoke about fighting back pain on stage.

Seger said,

“For the first time I’m sitting when I’m playing guitar, It hurts my back. I play two or three songs at the piano, but unusually, my back hurts worse at the piano. It’s really strange because it never did before. It’s just age. I’m getting up there.”

According to a news release, The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is under “doctor’s orders to attend to an urgent medical issue concerning his vertebrae.”
