John Mayer is ready to embrace the next chapter of his life.

The “Gravity” singer, 46, recently made an appearance in the latest episode of Kelly Rizzo‘s podcast, Comfort Food, where he expressed his wish to marry one day.

He told,

“People don’t think I want to be married, I absolutely want to be married. I so badly want to get married if only for my wife to just know in her heart, like, ‘John will know what to do’, I just think that level of being relied on is the hottest thing in the world to me.”
“‘If my husband was here, he would know what to do. Call John. Call my husband.'”

Host Rizzo then joked with the remarks,

“Your kink is that you want someone to be like, ‘John’s got a guy’.”

To which, the rocker responded,

“Reliance knik? Oh my God, Reliability kink? YES.”

This is not the first time Mayer has openly expressed his wish to marry.

He refuted the claim that he was afraid of commitment in a December 2022 Call Her Daddy podcast episode, saying, “Of course I want to get married.”

In 2002, John Mayer dated fellow singer Jennifer Love Hewitt. However, their relationship was brief. He then hooked up with Jessica Simpson after the actress divorced her ex-husband, Nick Lachey.

Mayer addressed his relationship with Simpson in a 2010 interview with Playboy, about three years after they split up. He told,

“Yeah, that girl is like crack cocaine to me. Sexually it was crazy. That’s all I’ll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm.”

After Simpson, the “Last Train Home” singer had a brief romantic relationship with Charlie’s Angels actors Cameron Diaz and Minka Kelly.

Between 2008 and 2009, he dated the Friends star, Jennifer Aniston. Mayer then had a brief romance with Taylor Swift after they collaborated on his song, “Half of My Heart.”

Although they never confirmed their relationship publicly, Swift wrote a harsh breakup song hinting about her breakup with the singer, titled Dear John.

She gushed about the song during her interview with the International Business Times.

“There are things that were little nuances of the relationship, little hints, Everyone will know, so I don’t really have to send out emails on this one.”

In a 2013 interview with W, Katy Perry confirmed her relationship with John. She said at the time,

“I actually am dating my crush, I had a crush on him for a long time.”

The two dated on and off for two years until they ultimately called it quits in 2015.

Lately, he has been rumored to have dated the “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” actor Kiernan Shipka in 2022 after the two were spotted together in several places.
