After that, he married Kathy who was a tournament manager for ProServe at one time. It is said that Nancy was the reason for their failed marriage. Similarly, Kathy sought $2.5 million in damages that she claimed on the 15th November 1994 cover story.
They had a son Clay together and they divorced in November 1994. Kathy’s lawsuit claimed,
“degraded her in the esteem and opinion of the world; injured her reputation and social character, and exposed her to public scorn, hatred and contempt.”
Jerry claimed that they had separated before the figure skating and said,
“My situation with Nancy is completely separate from my situation with Kathy … Kathy was as supportive as she could be. She had to put up with a lot of situations related to this business. The issues between us are personal.”
