Early life of Jessica Layton
Jessica Layton grew up in Burnt Hills and currently resides in East Greenbush. She is a part of a singing cabaret group called Singing Anchors.
She is in the group with Benita Zahn and Jerry Gretzinger that perform at weddings and fundraisers. Jessica used to play football and she is a former footballer.
Layton attended Syracuse University in the year 1999 and graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Broadcast Journalism and Political Science.
She was a well-regarded soccer player during her days at Burnt Hills Ballston Lake High School. She was captain of the team in the year 1998 in her senior season.
Layton revealed,
“For as long as I remember playing soccer, I was always singing, probably before that. So that’s always been a passion. There’s no stress about it, there’s no anxiety about it. It’s almost a stress reliever, in a way. I sing at weddings occasionally.”
She is the daughter of Karen and Jim Layton. On 11th May, Jessica wished her mother on Mother’s Day through Facebook.
She shared a couple of pictures of her and wrote,
“Cheers to these very special people in my life on this Mother’s Day. My mom for being there in every way possible for me every day, even in quarantine when I can’t physically see her. She and my mother in law are the best Grandmas possible to CJ. To my sister — the greatest Godmother to our son. And to my boy for making me a Mommy.”
Jessica and Andrew’s married life
Jessica Layton and Andrew Catalon started dating after a simple e-mail he wrote her welcoming her to the News Channel 13 family.
They appreciate the understanding they have for one another’s a passion for their career. They made time for each other even though they had a busy schedules.
Layton’s parents were already familiar with Catalon as he covered her brother’s football games. They were close to each other’s families.
On 4th July 2010, Andrew proposed to her in front of her family. She accepted the proposal and as a newly engaged couple went for a walk on the beach before returning to his parent’s house.
They reside in East Greenbush. The adorable couple enjoyed leisurely activities together, a weekend get-a-way to Lake Placid, a ride to Saratoga National Golf course, or just grabbing some ice cream at Angie B’s in Rensselaer. Likewise, they walked down the aisle on 17th July 2010 at St. Pius X Church in Loudonville.
Their reception was held at Saratoga National. Together they have a son Christopher James Catalon.
