Jodie Turner-Smith opens up about her divorce from Joshua Jackson

Jodie Turner-Smith is comfortable talking about her split from Joshua Jackson.

In an interview with The Times, the actress and model, 37, revealed that she filed for divorce from her husband, 45, in October 2023. She said that she is trying to take her split with the Fatal Attraction star positively.

In the interview published on Sunday, Jodie said,

“Sometimes things we really want to work just don’t end up working,”
“And that’s OK. The most important thing is that you choose what’s healthiest for you and your family and definitely your children.”

The Queen & Slim star added that everyone must pause at different moments in their lives and ask if they are being true to themselves.

She said,

“If the answer is no, then you have to make a move because I believe that there are visible scars from staying in places that are not good for us. And they don’t just affect us, they affect everybody around us,”

Continuing of her marriage to Jackson, Turner-Smith said,

“I don’t think it’s a failure,”
“We obviously had such a beautiful moment together. And now it’s time for a new moment for both of us. And how exciting!”

The duo first met at Usher’s birthday party in November 2018 and then a whirlwind romance began.

In December 2019, a source confirmed that the couple had tied the knot and just weeks later, Jodie debuted her baby bump. They welcomed their baby girl, Juno Rose Diana in April 2020.

How did Jodie spend her Valentine’s post-divorce?

The actress told The Times that she was thinking of Juno, now 3 when she decided to end her marriage to Joshua.

She said,

“The bravest thing in the world is to recognize when something’s not working and to make a move, and I always want to set that kind of example for my daughter,”
“The big takeaway is that this is about just as much love and joy as it has always been. This is only about taking a step forward into a better life for everybody involved.”

Turner-Smith also excitingly spent this Valentine’s Day. She shared a carousel of photos and videos on her Instagram.

The picture showed her living room filled with lilac, lavender, and silver-colored balloons that covered the ground and floated up to her ceiling. The wall was also decorated with silver floating letters that read, “Happy Love Day Jodie.”

She captioned the post,

“the best valentine’s yet!!!”
