Who is Julie Etchingham?

Julie Etchingham is an English television newsreader and journalist with ITV News. She presented the children’s news program Newsround in 1994.

Julie joined Sky News in 2002, and also presented editions of Five News when Sky won the contract to produce news programming for Channel 5 in 2005.

Etchingham has been working as a Newscaster of ITV News at Ten since 2008. She has been the presenter of the current affairs program Tonight since 2010, having replaced Sir Trevor McDonald.

In 2002, she went on to work for Sky News. She worked there till 2007. Eventually, in 2008 she went on to work as a relief newscaster for ITV Evening News. Then she went on to work for ITV News at Ten as a newscaster.

Julie Etchingham has reported for The Royal wedding, in 2011. A year later she was the co-presenter for The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. In 2015, and 2017, she went on to chair the ITV Leaders’ debate. She is also noted for her work as a reporter on the show, On Assignment.

Along with Tom Bradby, Julie Etchingham co-hosted ITV’s Broadcast of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral on April 17, 2021.
