K-Pop Star Moonbin Of ASTRO Dies At 25, Police Suspect Suicide As The Cause

K-Pop star Moonbin, a member of the boy band ASTRO dies at 25
Moonbin, a K-pop star, and member of the boy band ASTRO was found dead at his own home in Seoul on Wednesday evening. The pop star was 25.
The shocking death was confirmed by his group’s label in a statement posted on social media. The lengthy statement announced his death with great sadness. It said:
“First of all, we would like to apologize for the sad, heartbreaking news. On April 19, ASTRO member Moonbin suddenly left us to become a star in the sky.”
It added:
“Although we cannot compare our sorrow to the grief that the bereaved families are feeling, losing a beloved son and brother, the ASTRO members, fellow Fantagio artists, company executives, and employees are mourning the deceased in great sadness and shock.”
The statement also asked to refrain from rumors:
“We sincerely ask you to refrain from speculative and malicious reports so that the bereaved families, who are in a state of great sadness and sorrow due to the sudden news, can honor the deceased.”
Local police said in a statement published by Yonhap News that it was suicide but it has not been confirmed yet.
The actress and singer is survived by his family, including sister Moon Sua, a fellow pop star. His funeral hall has been set up at Seoul Asan Hospital on the 22nd of April. Moon will be in charge of the wake.

Fans are left in disbelief over the untimely passing of the pop star
The untimely passing of Moonbin has shocked K-pop fans all over the world.
There are already several memorials to his name in different places where fans are paying tribute with flowers and pictures of the pop star. There’s also a memorial established in Los Angeles at Choice Music.
A fan wrote on Twitter:
“Rest in peace, Moonbin. I hope the stars and the moon treat you well. I hope they give you all the comfort and love.”
Another one wrote:
“I can’t focus on work now. This really hurts.”
Similarly, another fan shared his sorrow:
“This is so sad. Gone way too soon. I pray for his peace and send love to his friends and family during this difficult time.”
The Korean entertainment industry is mourning the loss of Moonbin
The passing of Moonbin has left the South Korean entertainment industry in grief.
Korean pop duo TVXQ posted a tribute with a video of them performing together with the late singer with the caption:
“We personally know Moonbin from this show. This little baby shines so bright, his eyes and lips smiling so pure and charming. Watch his career grew in ASTRO is a proud thing. Let us remember only happy moment of him. Beautiful Angel in the sky, Moonbin.”
Kwon Hyuksoo, who worked together with him in ‘The Ultimate Watchlist of Latest Trends’ and ‘SNL Korea 2’, expressed his condolences:
“I love you so much. I’m sorry, I’m really grateful to you, I miss you. Don’t be in pain and rest well.”
Jang Sungkyu was shedding tears during the live broadcast of MBC Radio ‘Good Morning FM with Jang Sungkyu’ by saying,
“I can’t believe it. It doesn’t feel real to me because Moonbin was always bright and cheerful.”
The photo time for JTBC’s ‘Knowing Brother’ by LESSERAFIM was canceled, but the recording will proceed as planned.
MCountdown will still take place, but the atmosphere is expected to be gloomy. The staff has asked the performers not to promote the show on social media for now.
Music Bank is set to air tomorrow but they are considering canceling the photo time.
Similarly, IU has postponed her interview for her upcoming movie ‘Dream’ to the 24th.
