Celebrity makeup artist and former reality TV star Laney Chantal passed away at 33.

RIP Laney Chantal! A beautiful Soul Gone Too Soon

Laney Chantal aka Alaina Chantal Parkhurst died this week of an accidental drug overdose at the age of 33. She took her last breath Monday in Milford, Michigan.

Her family wrote that they had struggles with mental illnesses throughout her adult life in a public obituary after her death. It also wrote,

“Alaina put her whole self; body, m, mind, and soul into her jobs, no matter the size. Her artistic ability and visions quickly set her apart from other artists in her field and her portfolio blossomed.”

Six months before her actual death, Chantal had let the world worry after she posted a photo to Instagram of a pink coffin being buried. Was she planning her own death due to her illness or is it just an accidental death?

The Parkhurst family raised the fundraisers with The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation talking about the late daughter’s mental health struggles. Her friend for three years Lexa Vonn wrote a lengthy caption paying tribute to her death citing,

I know she is stronger than ever on the other side, swords out, ready to fight for every single wounded heart left behind until we meet again and we will. Rock In Power, baby girl…

Fellow makeup artist Gabriella Accarino expressed deep sorrow for the death of his soul sister adding,

“She was a genuine, sensitive, talented, and beautiful soul. Laney’s art and her spirit are irreplaceable, and she made the world a better place. She was truly one of a kind.”

Who was Laney Chantal?

The prominent FX makeup artist and mask designer, Chantal was pronounced dead in November 2022. Chantal had risen to prominence on the SyFy Network’s Face Off competition show in 2013 for its fifth season.

The Michigan native graduated high school in 2007 before moving to Los Angeles to attend the Cinema Makeup School.

She worked for Bella Thorne and Marilyn Montero Manson. The former beautician also did the Head FX Makeup for rapper Lil Nas X for his controversial music video. Montero (Call Me By Your Name) won the Video of the Year award at MTV’s VMAs in 2021.
