Maelyn Jarmon is an American country singer and musician, best known for winning the sixteenth season of the singing competition series The Voice.

She is the first contestant on the show to turn all the four judges with her powerful rendition of Sting’s “Field of Gold” during the blind auditions.

Maelyn Jarmon: Age, Family

She was born on the 8th of December 1992, in Frisco, Texas, United States of America. She was born to parents  Rebecca Jarmon and Steve Jarmon. Jarmon is from Texas, and her family settled in New York City, New York where she would grow up.

She was interested in performing arts at a very young age and took voice lessons before giving it a try on Broadway.

She is completely deaf in the right ear due to recurring ear infections when she was two years old which left her with only 80% hearing in the left ear.

Maelyn Jarmon: Professional Life and Career

She tried Broadway after she moved to New York but is focusing on creating her original music now.

She started her career in music when she signed with an agent at the age of 17. After that, she performed at Carnegie Hall twice and then toured with Ramin Karimloo, the lead player in Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables.

Moreover, she launched a Kickstarted campaign to fund her music career which became successful and Maelyn will release her first EP in 2019. She released her first single titled ‘Last Call’ in 2016 and her second in ‘Ayo’ in 2017.

One of her recent original songs is titled ‘Dreamboats’ which is available on YouTube.

Apart from their singing career, she appeared in the movies “Believe” in 2014, “Sweet Thing” in 2019, and “Access Hollywood” in 1996. Currently, she is a contestant in the 16th season of The Voice. Also, she is currently signed to Republic Records.
