He is best known for his roles in Saved by the Bell, as Zack Morris, and in NYPD Blue, as Detective John Clark Jr.

Gosselaar began his TV career on the Highway to Heaven, as a Rolf Baldt.

After that, he appeared in several commercials and a small role in movies such as Highway to Heaven, Stingray, Punkey Brewster, Necessary Parties, etc.

From 1988 to 1989, he portrayed the role of  Zack Morris, in Good Morning, Miss Bliss.

Again with the same character he appeared in Saved by the Bell, in 1989, as well as Saved by the Bell: The College Years in 1993.

In 2005, he starred as Geena Davis, Commander in Chief. The executive producer of this drama is Steven Bochco.

Gosselaar also worked with the same producer, in the Crime-Mystery drama NYPD Blue in 1993.

Gosselaar played in several independent hit films such as Beer Money in 2001, and Sticks and Stones in 2008.

In 2019, Mark-Paul Gosselaar did a recurring role as Brad Wolgast in The Passage, and as Paul Johnson, in Mixed-ish.
