Matthew Davis and his relationships

Matthew Davis, 45 played the character of Alaric in the show The Vampires Diaries. It was a popular show and he gained renown due to it.

On the personal front, Matthew has been in a few relationships. He had a failed marriage followed by a divorce. But now he is happily married to his second wife, Kiley Casciano.

Matthew was in a romantic relationship with American actress, Zooey Deschanel, 43 in 2000-2001. But this relationship did not work out. Matthew’s first wife was Leelee Sobieski. She is a retired actress and her current age is 40.

She started as a child artist and her famous roles were in Eyes Wide Shut, Deep Impact, Here on Earth, Joy Ride, etc. The couple dated and wed in 2007. But it was a brief marriage of two months and they called it quits in 2009.

Subsequently, Matthew dated Afghani-African actress, Azita Ghanizada from 2012 to 2015. Matthew started dating former Miss Georgia, Brittany Sharp.

The two were engaged in 2016 and had plans to walk down the aisle together in 2017. But the engagement was called off. And Brittany moved on rather fast to start dating Paul King White who is a doctor.

Matthew has now married to actress, Kiley Casciano for the last five years. Their engagement lasted three hours before they married. On his Instagram, Matthew revealed these facts. He wrote:

“When you ask your lover if they want to get married while shopping in the produce section of Erewhon, and three hours later you’re married on Christmas Eve Eve,”

He added:

“Thanks to Abbot Kinney (Boulevard) for the last minute provisions #AVeryMarriedChristmas.”

They wed on 23 December 2018. Their engagement was at the shopping section of the organic food market Erewhon in Venice, California. Matthew had uploaded several snaps of the event.

He had posted a selfie with him standing in front of a white floral background. There was also a picture of their wedding rings and a close-up of the hands of the couple intertwined on a restaurant table.

For the wedding, Kiley was in a simple white dress while Matthew wore a light grey sweater with trousers of light brown color. Later, he also put up a picture of Kiley and wrote below:

“This is my beautiful, amazing, hot a*s wife!”

Kiley also posted some pics on her Instagram with the caption:

“A very married Christmas. 12/23/2018.”

They have two children together. Their daughter Ripley Nightingale was born in March 2020. And second daughter, Dorothy Lavender arrived on 24 January 2022.

Matthew’s feud with Paul Wesley. Did he apologize?

Matthew and Paul Wesley had a social media fight in October 2020. It began on 7 October 2020 when Matthew shared his disappointment when Vice President Mike Pence was not given adequate time to speak in the debate. Paul commented:

“It would also be nice if pence answered the question he was originally asked rather than deflecting,”

And Matthew responded:

“Paul likes to vote for criminals and losers, just like he did in 2016. Your opinion on the matter carries little weight as far as I’m concerned. Next.”

Paul clarified that he had not voted for Donald Trump in 2016. And added:

“Guys Alaric drank some vervain he’s losing it,”

Matthew called his fans of Paul as very good and said ‘Yawn’ to show his boredom. And Paul continued:

“Lighten up baby boy u know u miss me. @ImMatthew_Davis love you buddy.”
Next day, Matthew apologized writing:
“Hey everyone,”
“My apologize [sic] for getting snappy last night. It’s been so combative round here these days I find it’s making me edgy. So I’m very sorry if I upset anyone by being an a–hole last night.”
“Anyhow, I’m told I need to watch the Social Dilemma,”

And again on 9 October, Matthew stated:

“Good morning. This is my twitter page. If you don’t like what I tweet you’re welcome to leave, and you don’t have to announce your exit.”
