In 2011, she started working as a Weather Specialist at Global Television in Regina, Saskatchewan and then moved on to become a Weather Reporter at The Weather Network in Calgary, Alberta from September 2012 to mid-2013.

Since 2013, she has worked as a Meteorologist on CTV Morning Live Calgary and CTV News at Noon and currently holds the position of Chief Meteorologist and Co-Host of Your Morning. Kelsey is also involved in the SkyWatch Weather in the Classroom program with CTV.

In her time with CTV, she has conducted interviews with Canadian astronaut Colonel Chris Hadfield, as well as James and Oliver Phelps, the British actors from the Harry Potter franchise.

Recently, on February 21, 2023, Kelsey delivered a great reply to a Twitter user who had used inappropriate comments regarding her body and clothing choices.

The tweet used hashtags to mention things such as her “panty lines” and wearing the color red as well.

It read:

“Welcome back @KelseyMcEwen #weathergirl from @YourMorning how come none of your cohorts haven’t told you #pantielines #cameltoe #bubblebutt #redisnotyourfriend”

She replied:

“Listen, I own my body, camel toe & bubble butt included,” McEwen wrote in response. “Your words bring me zero shame. Your feelings about my body & outfit are a you problem, not a me problem. And red? Red is [fire]. The only thing that isn’t my friend here, is you.”

She received praise online from many of her followers for this amazing response.
