Michelle Yeoh marries Jean Todt after 19 years of engagement

Congratulations to Michelle Yeoh and Jean Todt who finally exchanged wedding vows after 19 long years of engagement.

The Oscar-winning actress, 60, and her longtime fiancee, ex-Ferrari CEO married in an intimate ceremony in Geneva on Thursday.

A message in the wedding program shared by former Ferrari Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa began,

“We met in Shanghai on 4th June 2004,”

The program noted that the Malaysia-born actress and Todt got engaged just two months after dating. It added,

“On 26th July 2004, J.T proposed to marry M.Y and she said YES,”
“Today after 6992 days on 27th July 2023 in Geneva, surrounded by loving family and friends, we are so happy to celebrate this special moment together!”

A guest at the wedding named Massa also shared a selection of photos of the newlyweds and their family and friends. It also included a selfie with the bride and groom.

Interestingly, it also included Yeoh’s 2023 Best Actress Oscar statuette for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Another snap showed Michelle standing next to her husband and Massa, 42, wearing a silk skirt and tasseled cream skirt. Other guests at the ornately decorated Genevan building looked happy at the ceremony.

Fans got to see Yeoh’s different wedding outfits, thanks to the snaps shared by the guest.

One showed her in a nude lace dress with a silk bodice. The groom, for his part, looked dapper in a blue suit.

The Formula 1 driver captioned his Instagram post,

“Happy marriage #JeanTodt & #michelleyeoh love you so much . ❤️❤️,”

Yeoh and her spouse are yet to share any photos or details of their wedding on their own social media channels.

Michelle’s wedding comes months after her historic Oscar win

This year is a lucky one for Michelle, it seems. In March, she became the first Asian woman in history to win the Oscar for Best Actress.

After her big win, Michelle told the reporters,

“This is actually a historical moment, and I have to thank the Academy for acknowledging, embracing diversity and true representation,”

The actress added,

“I think this is something that we have been working so hard towards for a very long time, and tonight we freaking broke that glass ceiling,”
“I Kung Fu’d it out and shattered it, and we need this because there are so many who felt unseen, unheard.”

Yeoh continued,

“It’s not just the Asian community,”
“This is for the Asian community and anyone who has been identified as a minority.”
