The struggle of being parents of six children

Shannon Bennett and Madeleine West were together since the year 2005. It is not easy for the couple to grow up the six children for the duration of eight years.

The name of the six children of Shannon Bennett and Madeleine West are Phoenix, Hendrix, Xascha, Xanthe, Xahila, and Margaux.

Shannon Bennett and Madeleine West declared that they had never planned to make such a large family before. Bennett said:

“We were done two kids ago but destiny had other ideas. They’re all wonderful and a blessing, but four is quite enough.”

And according to Madeleine West:

“Six is just a multiple of the same chaos you deal experience with one child.”

Madeleine West shared about her twin babies. The arrival of the twins certainly took the high profile by surprise for the parents.

Shannon Bennett’s wife, Madeleine West wrote a book named ‘When Parenting Becomes an Extreme Sport’.

Madeleine West had written the book from her own experiences with her husband to raising their six children within eight years of time.

She made the book by writing notes and various diary entries on her bedtimes, teething, lunchboxes and even getting the children to eat their meals.

Recently when Madeleine West had an interview, she revealed that Shannon Bennett, who is referred to as “The Chef” in her book is a dedicated dad. However, he is often away due to his restaurant empire and TV commitments.

When she was asked more about her book she said:

“To give an honest account of my experiences so that people would start discussing parenthood in general. The good, the bad and the ugly. It came from the realisation that, as parents we all want to come across as perfect. We want our kids to think we are omnipotent. All seeing, all knowing, all doing, when we’re not. We’re not perfect.”

In her book, Madeleine gives each of her children different names and has avoided including any photos, This was because she wanted to give her children the opportunity to grow up anonymously.

She explained a part of her experiences and how she makes the children eat their veggies. She always used to explain and teach the children where the foods came from.

“I remember the time I was breastfeeding both twins in a doctor’s waiting room when one of the other kids got away and I had to tear through the waiting room with both boobs out. That was lovely! And another time I was playing a sex worker on a show and I had a let down on set, which rubbed my fake tan off all over the white satin sheets. So alluring!”
“One of the hardest things when you have lots of little kiddies is stopping yourself becoming overwhelmed. You can get lost in the chaos. Every so often, stop and smell the roses. Stop and appreciate the precious moments, and try to document them when you can so you know you’ve lived them to the maximum.”

She shared another one of her tips while promoting her book :

“If all else fails, throw a box of Nutri-Grain on the floor, lock the doors and hope for the best!”
