In the same way, Mayte and Prince started thinking about their son and started to make a new world, and suddenly, they heard that their son had a genetic abnormality since his birth, and they were broken.

Death of Mayte and Prince’s son

As soon as their baby came into the world, the couple also had bad news. The doctors said that their son has had a genetic disorder or genetic abnormality since birth, and they were broken.

Their son, Amir died of a rare genetic disorder days after he was born in October 1996, but the singer never publicly acknowledged the tragedy. They knew their son had a short life and would die soon. And their son died after six days of birth.

Mayte opens up about his son’s death in a huge show

Mayte Garcia opened up about her ex-husband Prince and their son’s death in an interview with Good Morning America on Tuesday, April 4.

She had deep grief hidden inside her never speaking about it before publically. She revealed it on the huge show around the huge mass.

Parents were broken after their son’s death

After the son’s death, Mayte and Prince were broken. There was so much sadness hidden inside them but did not reveal it. She said,

“It was how he handled it and I respected that. It was really hard, but it was also very liberating and healing to write about it because for so many years I held it in. I know when we lost Amiir, I read a lot of books that helped me and I’m hoping that somebody will read this and that it will help them as well.”

Garcia said that she wrote the book to “honor” her ex. Nearly two months after his death. Prince started using drugs to get rid of tension. After his son’s sudden death, he was addicted to drugs and started using painkillers and other medicines in a high manner but Mayte had no information on it.

She was unknown and officials confirmed that he died of an accidental overdose of the painkiller fentanyl, but Garcia told GMA that she didn’t know about his drug use.

The iconic singer(Prince) died at the age of 57 in April 2016. Garcia, who often speaks fondly about Prince, wrote about their life together in her new memoir, The Most Beautiful: My Life with Prince.

Mayte said,

“Part of the reason I wanted to write the book was to honor my son and it felt great to use his name. Prince was a genius in so many respects, but not in the way he handled the death of our son. It was a story that needed to be told.”

Handled many drawbacks in the hospital

The world believed the child had been named Boy Gregory. Mayte had checked into the hospital as “Mia Gregory” and this fake surname along with the baby’s gender had been written above his cot and leaked to the press. But they did not do anything about it. They stayed quiet.
